Leap into Convenience with Knoxville Area Transit’s Leap Day Promotion

Knoxville, TN – February 21, 2024 – Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) is thrilled to announce its special Leap Day promotion, inviting Knoxvillians to embrace the future of transit with mobile tickets. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, in celebration of Leap Day, KAT encourages everyone to “Take the Leap!” by trying out mobile tickets and experiencing the ease and convenience they offer.

As part of this exciting promotion, passengers who create a mobile ticket account in the Transit app on Leap Day itself will receive a FREE Day Pass loaded to their mobile ticket account. To claim this offer, individuals simply need to visit the Knoxville Station Customer Service Booth between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on February 29, 2024, and show their phone with the newly created mobile ticket account.

“We have had a great response with our introduction of mobile ticketing and have seen many early adopters taking advantage of this convenient fare payment option,” says Isaac Thorne, Director of Transit for the City of Knoxville. “If you haven’t tried it yet, Leap Day is the perfect opportunity.”

It’s important to note that the free Day Pass is only available to those who create their mobile ticket account on February 29, 2024. For those who may need assistance setting up their account or learning how to use mobile tickets, KAT staff will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout the day.
