On Monday, August 26, 2024, Knoxville Area Transit is launching our new KAT Reimagined bus network.

Kat has made a recommendation to the KTA Board to only accept cashless ticket payment methods onboard, following the launch of katpay – an account-based ticketing system.

With this new fare payment system, passengers can “pay as they go” using a reloadable fare card or by adding value to their katpay account in the Transit app. The card or their Transit app account can be reloaded with cash or card either through the app, an online web portal, at the KAT Customer service counter, or at retail locations around Knoxville.

We will be holding two public meetings to share more in-depth details of this plan and answer questions. These will be held in the Community Room of Knoxville Station (1^st floor) on:

Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 5 pm  – 6 pm

Monday, September 16, 2024, from 5 pm – 6 pm.

Anyone wishing to view the presentation should arrive by 5pm.

katpay will launch on October 23, 2024, and we propose going cashless beginning December 2, 2024. The KTA Board will hold a public hearing about this at their meeting on September 26, 2024.

Football Shuttle route services have changed for the 2024 season.

Shuttle service is now only available from the Civic Coliseum and Market Square. The pick-up and drop off locations for these shuttle locations has not changed.

We are no longer running shuttles from Farragut High School or the Old City.

Football Shuttles will now be cashless.

Football shuttle tickets cost $10 roundtrip per person. Shuttle tickets will only be available for purchase through our official app, Transit. Download it FREE in your app store today!
