Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) Announces No Disruption of Service During Temporary Closure of Upstairs Bus Platform at Knoxville Station Transit Center
Knoxville, TN – Due to concrete repair and sealing work, the upstairs bus platform at Knoxville Station, 301 E. Church Ave., will be closed beginning Friday, October 30th, at 6:00 p.m. The platform is expected to reopen for the first bus lineup on Monday, November 2nd.
While repairs occur, Knoxville Station will remain open to the public during its regular operating hours. Only the upstairs bus platform will be inaccessible.
To support safe pedestrian movement and efficient bus operations during the repairs, East Church Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Hall of Fame Drive and the entrance to the First Presbyterian Church parking garage. Only KAT buses will be permitted within the closure area. The closure will begin Friday, October 30th, at 6:00 p.m. and remain in effect until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st.
As a result, all passenger boardings, disembarkments, and transfers will take place along East Church Avenue directly in front of Knoxville Station. Temporary signage will be posted throughout the area, and KAT supervisors will be present to assist passengers and answer questions.
