In partnership with Knox County Schools and the City of Knoxville, KAT is excited to offer all students in Knox County the opportunity to ride KAT buses at NO CHARGE!
The Youth Freedom Program provides students unlimited rides year round on KAT’s Fixed Route bus service. The best part of this updated program – no special pass is required! Just hop on the bus.

We’ve updated the program so you don’t need a special pass to ride. Just hop on the bus and tell your driver that you’re a Knox County Student to ride!
Where can I go?
What about regular Knox County School buses?
I can’t ride the regular, fixed route buses due to a disability. What should I do?
The Youth Freedom Pass is only available for our Fixed Route service.
