Job Title: OCC Dispatcher (Operations Control Center)

Salary Range: 50,000-53,000; Exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The OCC Dispatcher is responsible for real-time oversight and coordination of Fixed Route and Paratransit services from within the Operations Control Center. The role involves proactive communication, schedule adherence monitoring, technology utilization (Optibus, GMV, Ecolane), and service response to ensure efficient transit delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor, adjust, and coordinate real-time Fixed Route and LIFT services using Optibus, GMV, and Ecolane platforms.
- Communicate promptly with Bus Operators and Road Supervisors regarding detours, incidents, or schedule changes.
- Track operator adherence to schedules and address deviations swiftly to maintain service standards.
- Record and report system anomalies, customer issues, and operational irregularities.
- Work in tandem with Paratransit and Fixed Route Controllers and support cross-departmental efforts.
- Maintain dispatch logs and system reports in alignment with agency protocols.
- Provide support during emergency response and service restoration.
- Participate in cross-training for Ecolane to ensure backup coverage for LIFT dispatch operations.
- Assist in managing missed trips, operator reassignments, and pullouts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of transit operations, dispatch, or control center experience preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of Optibus, GMV, and/or Ecolane software preferred.
- Familiarity with transit scheduling and dispatch procedures.
- Ability to analyze data, communicate effectively, and resolve real-time service challenges.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Tennessee Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily sedentary in an office environment but may require movement across the facility. Must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
