KAT Welcomes Dawn Distler!

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero has announced the appointment of Dawn Distler as the City of Knoxville's new Director of Transit. Dawn is a 27-year veteran in the field of public transportation. Most recently, she has been the General Manager of Operations and Maintenance for Davidson Transit Organization in Nashville. She began her transit career as a bus operator for 10 years with Metro Regional Transit Authority in Akron, Ohio, where she later also served as Operations Manager for ADA/Paratransit services and Assistant Director of Customer Services. Ms. Distler will assume the role of Knoxville's Director of Transit on June 1, 2014.

Temporary Stop Changes in UT/Cumberland Strip Area

Due to construction on Cumberland at 17th there will be some temporary changes to the stop location for Routes 10 and 11. The closest stop will be at 16th St. and we will also put a temporary stop at 18th Street. The Trolley stop will not be affected, as it is further down 17th street. Because the construction entails closing the sidewalk, some of the pedestrian detour is not ADA accessible, so 16th Street to White Avenue to 17th will be the alternative for wheelchair accessibility.
