BASIC SERVICES

Knoxville Area Transit offers a wide range of services and programs for the Knoxville community. We operate regular fixed route service throughout the city of Knoxville. Service times vary by route. For specific information about routes, visit our Schedules and Maps.

UT

"The T" is The University of Tennessee Transportation System, operated by KAT. The basic T routes include East-West, North-South, Neyland Express and Late Nite. In addition, the T: Access provides service for persons with disabilities and the T: Link transports students traveling late at night to the Late Nite bus or to their destination.

For more information on the T services and schedules, including a map of the routes for Fall 2012, visit the T blog or website.

KAT also offers a number of routes to and from campus to connect commuter students, faculty, and staff. More than 10 bus and trolley routes travel to and through campus, replacing an estimated 600 cars from campus traffic each day. The KAT/UT partnership also encourages members of the university community to use the regular KAT system rather than driving alone. UT semester passes offer unlimited rides at a discounted rate of $50. Passes are available at UT's Central Ticket Office.

NOTE: KAT's operation of the T services will end on Friday, May 31, 2013.

Additionally, UT semester passes will no longer be valid in KAT fareboxes, effective June 1, 2013, regardless of when they were purchased. After May 1, if you need to purchase a pass, we suggest you purchase a 30-day pass, which is available at Knoxville Station's Customer Information Counter or available by mail-in order via the website. Coming in August will be a 20-Ride pass for $25, and we will be working with The University of Tennessee on a new semester pass program for students.

EXPRESS: PARK & RIDE

The last day of operations for Rt. 102X: Farragut Express was Friday, February 1. This route was eliminated due to funding cuts from the Town of Farragut, which subsidized part of the operating costs of the route.
